ABOUT
Nadie Keating was born into a musical family with both her parents working as gigging musicians. Her mother was a singer and her father a singer/drummer they met in London on the Irish showband scene.
With music clearly in the blood, from the age of 3 Nadie’s talents were already apparent and her occasional guest appearances with her fathers band often earned her standing ovations with her father graciously allowing her to upstage him in return for setting up his drum kits.
Naturally her confidence on stage is something that has continued to translate into her career. Nadie is versatile contemporary singer performing all modern genres from rock, pop, potown, jazz, disco and everything in between. As a live vocalist her vocals never fail to soar and astound and her ability to connect to her audience is what sets her apart from her contemporaries.
This love of performing has seen her travel the world with various bands and artists working as a session singer for worked renowned artists such as Belinda Carlisle, Clare Grogan (Altered Images), Level 42, Del Palmer (Kate Bush), Gary Brooker (Procal Harem), Jim Davidson, Mike Reid, Jesus & Mary Chain to name a few.
As the vocalist of the band California Screaming Nadie works with the top Sessions musicians the UK has including James, Nisbet (Belinda Carlisle, Kylie, Lulu, Lily Allen), Same Blue (Ultravox, Dizzy Rascal, Yah yah), Alex Toff (Imogen. Heap, Bonnie Tyler, Belinda Carlisle), Toby Chapman (Spandau Ballet, Paul Heaton, ABC) and Matt Round (James Morrison) as a group they light up any event with their world class musicianship and energy. Nadie has worked with top UK tribute acts including Fleetwood Bac, Cloudbusting the music of Kate Bush, The Floyd Effect, Simply Us and Them, Simply Dan the Steely Dan tribute, Moonage Daydream a tribute to David Bowie and many more.
Nadie has performed at prestigious events such as BBC radio 2 Piano Room with Ken Bruce Maida Vale, BBC radio 2 80s Weekender with Gary Davies, The Grand National Aintree, Ascot, Houses of Parliament, Under the Bridge Chelsea FC, Wembley Arena, The Half Moon Putney, The Stables Milton Keynes, Pizza Express Holborn, Café De Paris, Islington Assembly Hall to name a few
In 2005 Nadie was signed to Halo records, releasing her debut album The M’Naughton Rule to much critical acclaim. Working with her co writer and producer Jo Webb (ELO, RPJ Band) together they created an album which received great praise from the Uk and international press. Nadie has been working at BIMM (British & Irish Institute for Modern Music) since 2016 and in her role as a Senior Lecturer she teaches Singing, Performance, Songwriting and Styles. Utilising her love of performance and singing Nadie has completed her PG Cert in Education in 2022 and continues to inspire and innovate in her classes helping shape the next generation of singers, creators and performers.
